Handcrafted Modern

I opened my small, well-equipped shop, Last Chance Woodworking, in 2005. I have been in the trade for more than forty years: first as a carpenter; then in a shop that made antique reproduction furniture; and lastly and mostly I worked in, and then managed, a shop that was part of a general contracting business specializing in historic restoration and high end cabinetry.

I do all types of woodworking including cabinets, furniture, and architectural millwork. I like working with solid and beautiful wood using traditional joinery with simple designs, combining modernism with craft. “Custom” woodworking means I make what you want.

Working alone allows me to give your project my full attention. All work is done in the best manner and I always try to work within your schedule.

My images are primarily of furniture because it is easiest to photograph:  I bring a furniture-makers's care, craft, and skills to cabinet-making, as well.  I am glad to look at any quality woodworking project.
